Job Summary

We are looking for a staff accountant to work at a manufacturing facility in Irvington, New Jersey. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records that will track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills, experience with various financial software, and a commitment to confidentiality and precision. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to our financial integrity and operational success through diligent data entry, account reconciliation, and financial analysis.

Monday-Friday, start time 8-9a. The first 90 days will be onsite. After that, the schedule will change to 4 days in office, 1 day remote.

Salary starts at $73,000, commensurate with experience

Key Responsibilities:

• · Enter journal entries
• · Maintains the general ledger.
• Assist with month-end close.
• · Record all daily cash transactions, customer payments, verifies deposits, administers positive pay and addresses inquiries from banks.
• · Reconcile Intercompany accounts
• · Monthly segment reporting for allocated costs
• · Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
• · Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
• · Performs other related duties as assigned.
• · Initiate wire transfers
• · Settle customer credits
• · Daily Sales Reporting
• · Issues Stop Payments
• · Review and post expense reports

Qualifications:

• BA Accounting
• At least 3 years of accounting experience, preferably at a product-based company, including maintaining general ledger, account reconciliation, preparation of journal entries, month-end close and financial statements.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 greatly preferred
• The ideal candidate will be energetic, enthusiastic, and will have a positive approach to challenges and integrating continuous improvement into daily tasks.
• The role requires strong interpersonal skills for interaction with a wide variety of departments within the company.

Experience:

• Accounting: 3 years (Required)
• Microsoft Excel: 3 years (Required)
• General ledger reconciliation: 2 years (Preferred)
• Journal entries: 2 years (Preferred)
