Location: Charleston, SC

Setting: Hospital

Pay Range: 1285.32 - 1349.59

Schedule: 07:00 - 19:30

Contract Length: Discuss with recruiter.

Candidate Type: Traveler

Requirements: CBSPD and/or CRCST - HSPA; Minimum of three (3) years of sterile processing experience; Prior leadership experience; Familiarity with electronic instrument tracking systems; 30% supervision and leadership; 30% department advancement and expectations; 30% coordination and management of specialty services; 10% sterile processing duties; Require experience with neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, ortho, transplant, GYN procedures. No BLS required.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise Lead Technicians, Tech I, II, III, and Non-Certified Technicians across all SPD work areas, including decontamination, prep/pack, sterilization, case carts, and sterile storage.
• Assign staff daily based on workload, case volume, and departmental priorities.
• Oversee instrument tracking systems, documentation accuracy, and inventory control.
• Collaborate on staff orientation and training plans with educators and managers.
• Manage daily SPD operations to meet surgical case demands.
• Monitor tray turnaround times, instrument availability, and case cart readiness.
• Troubleshoot equipment, instrument, and workflow issues in real time.
• Ensure proper segregation of clean/dirty workflows and infection prevention practices.
• Ensure compliance with AAMI ST79, AORN, CDC, and regulatory standards.
• Audit tray assemblies, count sheets, peel packs, and labeling.
• Address service concerns and implement service recovery.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings related to instrumentation, workflow, and quality initiatives.
• Monitor infection control, safety, and universal precautions adherence.
• Organize, store, and distribute instruments, trays, and equipment to ensure availability.
• Prepare instrument trays and equipment for sterilization.
• Perform decontamination and sterilization of instruments, supplies, and equipment.
